New agreement on cross-border information and consultation of employees signed by the CM of the Deutsche Bahn Group and the European Works Council of Deutsche Bahn AG

On 21 March 2012, a new EWC agreement between the DB Group and the EWC of Deutsche Bahn AG was concluded following long negotiations.

Both parties signed the agreement, with which the EWC intends to carry out restructuring that has become necessary due to Deutsche Bahn's changed structure, and particularly through the acquisition of ARRIVA. The agreement was also signed by Sam Chapman, the employee representation spokesman at what had previously been ARRIVA's EWC.

At the signing of the agreement, Ulrich Weber, the head of HR at Deutsche Bahn AG, and Günter Kirchheim, Chairman of the EWC, expressed their hope that the agreement would form a basis for positive collaboration between European employee representation and management.
