The European Works Council (EWC) of Deutsche Bahn AG has long called on Central Management to agree minimum standards for assisting accounting employees affected by the European-wide transfer of accounting to a shared service centre.

Ever since the DB Group Management Board announced its decision to concentrate the European accounting functions at a shared service centre in Romania, the EWC has called on Central Management to establish minimum standards to protect and compensate the employees affected throughout Europe.

The EWC and Central Management have now agreed that an evaluation will be carried out of all the statutory, collective-bargaining and company rules by september in the different countries, that apply when employees lose their jobs. The EWC expects this to culminate in a standard for all the employees affected, whose companies have no such rules until now.
